We were driving home from an evening out and for once all was quite in the car. We were watching in the rear view mirror as a rather large thunderstorm loomed behind on it's way here. It reminded me of all the storms that we go through from day to day in our life. Some storms are simply spring showers that bring us to a refreshing end, but others are devastating storms that require months and months of clean up and recovery. Have you ever seen a storm looming and braced for the fallout? I know I have, but then sometimes there are pop up thunderstorms that take us by surprise. To me those are the ones that we need to be prepared for. Those are the one's that we are not expecting. We are going along in life happy and busy and all of a sudden we are forced to stop and survive the storm.
All this being said, I got to thinking about what today must have felt like for Jesus. He knew the storm was coming, he was prepared, but when He was on the cross, even JESUS cried out to God. EVEN JESUS cried out! He sacrificed everything for ME!!!! I hope that you take the time this weekend to reflect on that and what it means for you. However, why just this weekend? Why not everyday? Why need a holiday to remind us? Let's thank Him everyday, and let's always be prepared for the coming storm. The storms will come, are you ready??
