Not What I Thought

Due to the most trying 3 years I've had I decided to sleep the day away yesterday and not even bother to get dressed. My plans were to move from my bed to the couch and watch tv, read, catch up on my blog reading, maybe do a little research for a friend who is still in the school frenzy.

Well, I did sleep in till 10, but the phone wouldn't stop ringing so I got up. There was nothing good on tv so I got online. No updates on blogs. So I read. I finished my book. So I researched. I couldn't find out anything I needed. Hmmmm, what next? Back to sleep (keep in mind the phone hasn't rang once since I got up). I drifted off and guess what? The phone rang. I Give Up!!!!!!

My day off ended up a long, lonely, BORING day! I think today I'll do some laundry, muck out BB's room, and go have lunch with hubby. I'm ready to get the kiddo's back and get back to my crazy life!! Guess I better find a job!!!!!!

Finally!

Guess what? My three year long nightmare, challenge, dream come true, this is the hardest thing ever, I can't believe it's really true, journey is over! I completed my last day of nursing school today!! I am a graduate nurse awaiting boards to be an RN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BB and DQ are doing wonderfully at the beach. BB says he's baked to a crisp, and DQ gets ice cream every night from Grandpa. Who could ask for anything more?

Currently Bear the puppy and Spike the dog are having a little spat. Over the last couple of months they have been sharing an enormous raw hide bone. Well this bone has fondly earned the title of "crack" due to the extreme addiction they have both developed to this bone. The spat has begun however because it's no longer big enough to share! And I thought I was getting a kid break! I'll take BB and DQ fighting anyday over Spike the dog's persistant whining and pacing for her awaited turn ! She is literally twitching!! Too funny.

Upon our return from the beach we will prepare for the coming storm. What is that you ask? Well let me tell you. Picture 11 almost 5th grade boys crawling all over 15 acres with paint ball guns, then add a 33 yr old man to the mix, and that is the storm. On top of that, they be roasting wieners and marshmallows over an open flame. Hmmmm, hope there is some property left when they finish this little war games birthday party!!!

This promises to be a good summer. We have plans to join the pool down the road and swim daily. The membership includes swim team and tennis. Also, I'm looking into riding lessons for DQ, and BB has begun to really enjoy golf with cousin HH, daddy, and big hubby boss man (uncle K). Ontop of that there will be a few trips to the beach, and don't forget a week of camp. Whew, did ya lose your breath there? I did!!!! I can't wait! I on the other hand will be spending a few hours here and there studying for boards :( yuck! I'm sure I'll squeeze plenty of fun in there too!!!!!!

Well I must run, time to sleep till I feel like getting up tomorrow, then I'll sleep a little more!!!

Hello??????

I know, it's been forever since I've updated- ooops, sorry about that, I just haven't had a lot to say.

Well people, I have one day of preceptorship left and I will officially be finished with nursing school. Whooo Hooooo!!!!

I've gotten a taste of full time work and let me just say it's gonna be a tough one! God has chosen to bless me with the entire summer off though. Hubby has been assigned a job at work that will be incredibly time consuming but he will be compensated well. That will enable me to hold off getting a job for the summer. Yippeeee! BB and DQ are quite happy about that!

Hubby and I caught the new Indiana Jones flick today. It was very typical of Indiana Jones, which if you like him that's a good thing. I'm not sure what I was expecting, maybe a modern day version, but nope it was a good ole fanatasy/action/adventure, yea right like that could really happen kind of movie. I think it's just what the doctor ordered for today!!

BB and DQ are at the beach for the week; hubby and I will be joining them Friday. I miss them terribly already! (they just left a few hours ago) It will be nice to get some things done around here that desperately need doing! My poor family, they probably think the mommy side of me fell off the planet! All you working moms out there let me just commend you! Don't get me wrong, there is a lot to be said for being a stay at home mom ( I've done it for a few years!), but it's so hard to juggle work life and home life! I've joked in the past about the sad condition of my home, but in all honesty it's really terrible! Me thinks a calendar and a better organized schedule will be on my list of things to do this week!!

Speaking of things that need doing, I tried a new venture this week that really put me in reality land. I went to a gym and worked out! OMG!!! I'm wondering if I'm still really alive or is this version of my life is really the "other" place. I think every muscle in my body is on fire!!! (That might explain my wondering if I'm really still alive here on earth or in the "other" steamier choice of locations) All I have to say is that I have my work cut out for me! (so do my thighs!!) I do hope to get back into shape, or at least some semblence of my former self... results pending!

Well, I think I might take me a little heavenly nap!

Peaking Out

As mentioned above, the sun is beginning to peak through the clouds... a little!! My wonderful, awesome, fabulous, gorgeous, bestest ever in the whole wide world mother came last night! ( Love you mom!!) You can't imagine what a burden has been lifted just having her here to help the kiddos adjust to our new life! Also, we got my car back today- one down, one to go!! Plus, we have a buyer already for little Snowball (yes, we are dorks who name our car... why don't you???)

Yesterday hubby and I were really feeling our faith being tested. What's the saying about Murphey's law? Well I'll tell you ours: Murphey moved in and brought his sister with him!! The dishwasher was replaced but the piping was all wrong, my car was ready about 5 days too soon (money wise), Bear the puppy is not feeling well, and on and on and on. However, our awesome God decided to show us that He's here and He knows we need him. Today our tax money showed up, the dishwasher is working fabulously, and on and on and on.

Tomorrow is field day for BB. I wasn't planning on being able to be there, but my schedule changed so I guess I better dig out the sunscreen. It seems that whenever I go do field day I get roped into doing something that requires skill; something I don't have. One year I spent 5 hrs teaching the Cha Cha slide. OMG, I still have that song in my head! I am excited for the tug of war: that's always the best part. (Well with exception to watching BB and DQ get a whip cream pie thrown in their face! Tee hee hee!!!!!)

Well, to all you MOMMIES out there, Happy Mother's Day a day late. I hope you had a blessed time with your families!

Adjustments

There is a theme brewing here! Adjusting to a new way of life! I have not had a real job in so long, well really never, but especially not since that kiddos came round. Well, I'm currently working a full time schedule (3 12 hr shifts a week) trying to finish up the last little bit of school and it has been tough on our little world. BB is struggling hard, but I think in time he'll come around!

Today my nurse that is orienting me made a comment I found kind of funny, but true. She said "you have to adjust to not being a student or a tech anymore! You are not the gopher anymore, someone else gets paid to do that for you!!" I found that to be so funny! What was even stranger is that one of my former classmates was on the floor today doing clinical for her LPN program, and I found myself being so thankful that I'm no longer in her shoes! Then to end the day the patient we had just finished delivering called up to the desk and asked for Amy, her nurse! WOW!!! I mean technically I'm not a nurse yet, but what a neat feeling that was that someone needed me!!

Finally, the biggest adjustment of all: juggling home life! Our house looks like a bomb went of (usually it just looks like a small tornado hit). Our dishwasher died, our laundry basket blew up and apparently the swiffer duster is on vacation!! Oh, and the stove retired!! lol I guess this weekend will be spent buying a new dishwasher, attempting to turn my mountain of laundry into a mole hill, and buying a new swiffer duster. As far as the stove goes, well we'll just have to see!!

The Hot Dog Brigade

We currently have a house guest which brings our grand total to 3 wiener dogs!! First we have Spike. She's small, thin, and black. She also needs to shut her trap!! She's our "talker" (that's an understatement!). Next we have Bear. He's long haired and a blondish red color. He's the baby of the group. He a kissy, furry little (well not really little) snuggle bug who adores BB. He follows him EVERYWHERE!! Finally, we have Lucy (hubby's brother's dog). Lucy is fat, red, and fiesty! She bit DQ, she bit hubby, and well, she adores me! What can I say, I am after all charming, and pretty (sorry gorgeous is more accurate), and smart(oops, brilliant I mean), and........ Well I could just go on all day, but you don't really need me to tell you something you already know!! LOL

Speaking of dogs. I would like to say congrats to mom and dad on their new little bundle of joy. They have got a new puppy. Just let me say, I'm now a proud big sister! Yay mom and dad! Have fun potty training.

Well, I went to my doc this week, and I am having surgery this June. The good news is that it's not going to be a big deal. Two wks recovery, I think that'll be ok! I'll just have hubby, BB, and DQ wait on me hand and foot, take lots of dope, and eat all my favorite foods courtesy of hubby!! Sound like a plan? Good! I thought so too.

Well, BB is currently standing behind me looking over my shoulder and begging for me to ground his little tush, so I guess I better go. (BTW, that worked! He just left to go do his chores! LOL)

Just Thinkin

I just dropped BB off at school for his overnight fieldtrip. After waking up with an intense headache from lack of sleep and some other health issues I'm facing, I'm already a little upset. It broke my heart as I so wanted to be able to go with him, but my schedule just did not allow the time. Emotions are definitly running high right now here at Hworld. This has been a tough week.

I just finished checking emails this morning and realized that just about everyone I know is going through some sort of trial right now. There are so many needs for so many people; sickness and pain, financial problems, deaths, ect. I have been so caught up in my own little saga that I realized I'm missing the bigger picture as I so often do. God has a plan for me, not to harm me, but to prosper me.

Today I'm simply going to try to focus on pressing on, and running this race. These are just minor blips along the way, even though right now it feels so large. I am going to trust that BB will be safe, that this car situation will work out ok, that my health will hold out. Hubby is plodding along as well, one foot in front of the other right?

Sorry this is not a very cheerful entry, but hey, I'll be entertaining you soon with more tales from BB's trip. Oh, before I forget, I know my BB is quite a cutey pie, but I had know idea how cute until this morning watching the little girls giggle at him, bop him on the head, and chase him! He is a ladies' man at 10 yrs old! What ever are we going to do??????? Little stinker, he was lovin every minute of it! I do have to admit though, he was all eyes for momma when he was sitting on that bus waiting to leave. He was blowing me kisses and signing I love you. AWWW shucks, He Loves ME!!!!!!
