The South

Ahhhh, the south. I love it here. For those of you that are totally out of my loop, I grew up in South Dakota, but have transplanted (rather well) to Georgia about 9 yrs ago. I married a southern boy ( redneck says my dad), and am currently raising southern children. Some days I fit right in, and some days I just have to laugh.
Last Thursday night I was at clinical till about 11pm. I called hubby on the way home to be told BB broke his toe. What???? I leave you alone for a few hours and we have broken bones? What happened??? Well........ "BB takes the lead. Bear (the puppy) is close behind. BB rounds the corner with Bear bringing up the rear. Wait! Bear takes the inside right and BB takes the wall!" OMG!! I laughed my butt off!
The following morning DQ and I hobbled BB to class. As I was walking back to the car I ran into a friend of mine in the parking lot. (Shamrelle, I don't know where you are from, but if your from GA you don't show it.) Anyway, in her most southern accent possible, her morning went like this. "We had no power this morning. I was so ticked off!! I had a friend on the phone and she told me what was going on. The electricity fell off the pole and the now the field is on Faire!!!!" (yes, faire, say it out loud, then you'll get it) So funny!
When hubby and I were engaged I was having him check out my battery in my car as it needed a good cleaning. Naturally I told him that there was a cleaner thingamajiggy in the garage on dad's desk. His response was " A what??? All you do is just pour a coke on it!!" My dad overheard this and said " You are a redneck aren't you boy?" Ahhhh, the south!!!
I could go on all night, but I guess I'll stop now. Honestly, I love it here. I loved SD too, so don't go gettin' your britches in a twist!!!! ( See, I fit in well here!)

The Dude was in NH this week and sat and watched it snow for one whole day...and loved every minute (and 18 inches) of it. I, on the other hand, enjoy wearing short sleeves in March!
